The lab is equipped with a wide range of advanced instruments, including: fully automated biochemical and immunochemistry analyzers, fully automated enzyme immunoassay analyzers, hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) chromatography analyzers, fully automated hematology analyzers, fully automated urinalysis and urine sediment analysis systems, fully automated nine-element trace element analyzers, carbon-13 urea breath test analyzers, allergen detection systems, fully automated nucleic acid extractors, fully automated nucleic acid amplification analyzers, an Olympus OLYMPUS DX41 multifunctional microscope, a SHELLAB 2123 CO₂ incubator, a DHP-9082H electric thermostatic incubator, and an LMQ.C-80 fully automated autoclave sterilizer.
In 2005, the lab was awarded the district-level title of “Pacesetter for Women”. In 2006, it passed the evaluations for both the Guangdong Provincial Level II Laboratory and the Futian District Central Laboratory for Standardized Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Testing. In the same year, it also passed the evaluation for an HIV screening laboratory. In October 2011, the lab successfully obtained ISO 17025 national laboratory accreditation. In December 2014, it was honored with the “Shenzhen Pacesetter for Women” title by the Shenzhen Women’s Federation. From 2015 to the present, it has been repeatedly recognized as an “Advanced Unit for Standardized STD Laboratory in Guangdong Province”.
4. Talent Team:
The lab has 1 laboratory physician and 6 laboratory technologists. Among them, there are 3 with senior professional titles and 2 with intermediate titles, and 1 Ph.D. holder. Additionally, 1 staff member is recognized as a Futian Talent Class III.
5. Main Testing Items:
Routine blood, urine, and stool tests; liver and kidney function tests; lipid profile; cardiac enzymes; rheumatoid factor; blood glucose; hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c); thyroid function tests; sex hormone levels; tumor markers; pregnancy testing (hCG); trace elements; allergen testing; Helicobacter pylori testing; hepatitis B serology (HBsAg, etc.); sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing; tuberculosis-related testing; and nucleic acid testing for pathogens.
6. Research Achievements:
In the past five years, the department has undertaken 2 district-level research projects and published more than ten papers in academic journals.
7. Development Goals:
Guided by the principle of “quality as the foundation and specialty as the core,” the lab aims to establish an ISO 15189 quality management system to ensure accurate and efficient routine testing. With a focus on meeting the needs of the psychiatric specialty, it will expand specialized testing services such as therapeutic drug monitoring and neurotransmitter assays, striving to become a regional demonstration laboratory for psychiatric laboratory testing and to provide precise diagnostic support for the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders.
